This is the book that inspired Cris to make The Puzzle Factory. The contents of its pages were not originally intended for publication. Let Me Have My Son contains, primarily, letters written on behalf of his son, Daniel, who at the time had been a patient in mental hospitals in Virginia and Mexico for seven years. The letters were written—usually once a month—to friends asking them to pray for him, his situation, and his family.
As the letters accumulated, Cris began to receive notes from those on the “prayer list” asking him if he had thought of putting the letters in a book. The comment was often made that the letters would benefit others passing through difficult times, regardless of whether their trials were related to issues of mental health.
What began for Cris as cries of help for his son became words of encouragement to others during their time of trial, whatever that trial might be. Cris has confidence in the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living and knows that He is with us when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death.
